While we provide more detailed ongoing reports in our newsletters, here are a few of the Window of Hope highlights:
MEDICAL
CLINICS: From our founding through 2007, we have provided 23,301 free examinations and have dispensed 44,919 free prescriptions to needy people around the world. Our clinics have stretched from the Pacific Islands to South Africa and to many points in between.
Window of Hope is also assisting Dr. Jose Bayardo and Dr. Leandro in Managua, Nicaragua in providing full time care to the needy people of that country. In addition, we provide donations of medications to organizations around the world.
HUMANITARIAN
PROGRAMS:
Window of Hope purchases meals for the hungry in hurting communities around the world. We also provide donations of clothing. In so doing, we fulfill our ministry vision…”Feeding the Hungry…Clothing the Naked… Treating the Sick.”
SPECIAL PROJECTS:
One of our greatest and most important projects involves a program called Home Based Care in the squatter camps of Soweto outside of Johannesburg, South Africa. These are shantytown slums where the standard of living is frightful. HIV/AIDS is a serious problem and in some locations a majority of citizens are infected. Through a collaborative effort with Pastor Johannes Mbundi and his faithful staff, we are funding a ministry providing home visits and nursing care in a hospice type outreach to the terminal AIDS patients of these communities. We also provide meals and a message of hope. In so doing, we acknowledge the dignity of these precious souls that many consider throw away people.
Window of Hope is also continuing our Soccer Ministry providing Jesus Loves You soccer balls and a program of sidewalk Sunday School to the youth of the world.
