Dr.
James Lindgren is the Founder and President of Window of
Hope. Known to most simply as Doctor Jim, he felt called
to preach the Gospel at the young age of 8, but always had
a keen interest in medicine and science. It wasn't until
his sophomore year of college, while studying in the basement
of his college library, that Doctor Jim finally grasped what
he felt was God's calling upon his life: to preach the Gospel,
but to do so using the platform of medicine.
Thus
began a journey to complete College, Bible College, Medical
School, Internship and Residency. After completing his medical
training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Doctor Jim
practiced in a small town type Family Clinic in Surprise,
Arizona. This was followed by training and practice in Emergency
Medicine. Dr. Jim went on his first medical mission
trip to Creel, Mexico in 1990. There he saw the great need
of others and fell in love with caring for the needy. Numerous
other trips followed and through his experiences and noting
the limitations of other groups, Doctor Jim felt motivated
to found an organization that could best serve as a platform
to share the Good News of the Gospel not just with words,
but also in deed. Window
of Hope was thus born from the vision of Doctor Jim to use
the platform of medicine and humanitarian relief in providing
a practical demonstration of Christian love. In so doing,
Window of Hope strives to provide the absolute best "product"
we can to suffering people. It is Window of Hope's policy
to never use expired medications or to give less than our
best to those in need.
Through the generosity of Doctor
Jim and his wife Monica pledging their life savings to launch
Window of Hope, we have been able to grow from infancy to
a rock solid and well respected charity, which is literally
touching thousands of lives each year all over the world. We
invite you to explore our website to better understand Window
of Hope. |
